Well i have spent most of the day on the computer researching our new history topic.
This is what i love about HEing - the way topics develope and grow and the fact that you have the freedom to grow with them. Our history topic started out as the great fire of London. It has now developed into 17th century London - the gunpowder plot, civil war, plague and fire! Once i had done all my research i then had to think of actibities and ways to deliver this info to my girls (aged 8 and 10).
For the great fire I'm hoping to make a news report with the girls reporting 'live' from the scene and interviewing 'eye witnesses'. We're going to record it on the camcorder - as my girls are prone to the giggles this may take some time! I've also found a video on you tube (it was first aired on ch 4 with Richard Hammond) it looks at what would have happened if Guy Fawkes had succeded. So I'm really looking forward to starting this topic.
